May 14, 2001: KWE @ Canter's Kibitz Room, Los Angeles. A raucous evening performance that seemed to channel Pussy Galore, with a big set of tunes that would emerge on the Modal Universe album. I lo-fi audio taped the show; I Went Down With The Broken sounded best, most focused and manic. I threw myself forward into my kit at the end of this song, pushing the three club microphones into wild feedback. While the crowd loved it, Francine the booking lady flipped out and banned me from the club. Well, the only thing really I'll miss is the post-show pastrami sandwich.
